Vencore recruiters will attend career fairs this fall at the University of Virginia, Virginia Polytechnic Institute (Virginia Tech), George Mason University and the University of Maryland. Our goal is to recruit sharp, young individuals in technical fields to help mold and shape the growing culture of our new company and represent our company ethics at client sites.
Based on workforce planning projections and our current needs on client sites, we are heavily recruiting in the technical engineering fields -- specifically systems engineers, aerospace engineers, electrical engineers and those with computer science, Intel analyst and cyber analyst degrees. We strive to hire graduating individuals with a 3.0 grade point average or higher -- those who have had strong internships or school projects.
Vencore attends college career fairs every fall -- soon in areas beyond the DC metro, east coast area. As our company has grown, so have our needs for diverse and specialized candidates.
In the spring, we attend fairs focused on internships. Our growing internship program is a great opportunity for us to hire young professionals and mentor them for a summer. We have had great success with bringing candidates on board, who then return for additional internships or full time positions once they graduate.
About 25% of Vencore employees are entry level or early level professionals. We offer a spires program, which is an accelerated learning and development leadership program. This allows entry level employees to take a fast track to where they want to be. We offer a strong tuition reimbursement program for employees who wish to receive their master’s degree in a relevant field.
